Cheap, light, quick, simple and tough – and almost self-inflating. What’s not to like? Here are the two most outstanding features.
Wonderful.
15″ x 5″ when deflated. 33″ x 72″ inflated. 3 lbs. Tubes 200 denier. Floor 400 denier. The nearest competition I guess is the Ultralight version of this one: https://www.theultralighthiker.com/2017/01/02/new-diy-pack-raft/or Klymit’s Pack Raft: https://www.theultralighthiker.com/2016/04/23/klymit-packraft/ It has to be a great option especially if there are rivers/lakes to cross on your route.

Does anyone know if this can ride rapids of up to at least grade 3? If the Klymit is the closest thing to this then the answer is no. However, the floor of this raft is 400d and so it is comparable to iron raft’s 420d and the iron raft boat can ride rapids very well. Has anyone actually tried this boat out on rapids though as this is the only way to really know.
No idea Alex. Maybe someone else will have tried one out. Cheers, Steve.
