The World’s Greatest Machete

In my opinion this is simply the world’s greatest machete. If you don’t already own one, you MUST. It will make easy work even of removing blackberries and anything else up to 1″ or more:

487 grams on my scales

I have the Gerber version (http://www.amazon.com/Gerber-31-000083-Gator-Brush-Trimmer/dp/B0025VKMI2) 429 grams which is probably much the same except it comes with a handy Cordura sheath instead of the plastic arrangement the Fiskars has.

You have no idea how much work I have done with this machete. In just one job I cleared a walking track 40 km long! You may recall my efforts on the East Tyers Walking Track I have used it extensively when hiking and camping and around the farm.

Recently I have been using it clearing a track in the bush behind us to extend a walking track up The Creek which will soon be the subject of a new post. It is simply the most wonderful implement. I will be taking it with me on a planned expedition soon where I will need to do extensive track clearing as the ‘road’ we are going along was closed nearly 40 years ago!
